Area (ft)

Quick fill:

How do I measure this?
  1. Run a tape measure along one wall at floor level - that's the length.
  2. Measure the wall at a right angle to it - that's the width. For an L-shaped room, split it into rectangles and add them up.
  3. Write both numbers down before you shop - a phone photo of the tape works great.

Presets are rough starters - measure your real room before ordering.

Concrete slab with a price tag - concrete cost calculator

How to estimate

  1. Measure the area you're covering - length × width.
  2. Pick the grade or material that matches your project.
  3. Read the estimated installed cost range for your area.

What drives the cost

  • Finish - a plain broom-finished slab is cheapest; stamped, stained or exposed-aggregate finishes cost much more.
  • Thickness and reinforcement - a 4-inch slab costs less than a 5–6-inch driveway with rebar or wire mesh.
  • Sub-base and grading - excavation, a compacted gravel base and forming are most of the labor.
  • Slab size and shape - small or oddly shaped pours cost more per ft²; large flat pours are cheaper.
  • Access and tear-out - removing an old slab and hard-to-reach sites add cost.
  • Local labor and concrete prices - the biggest regional swings.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a concrete slab cost?
Installed, a plain concrete slab runs about $5–$10 per square foot (labor + materials); a reinforced driveway $8–$15, and stamped or decorative concrete $12–$28. A 20×20 ft (400 ft²) plain slab lands roughly $2,000–$4,000. Enter your area above.
How much does a concrete driveway cost?
Most standard concrete driveways run about $8–$15 per square foot installed. A 576 ft² two-car driveway lands roughly $4,600–$8,600; decorative or stamped finishes can exceed $20 per square foot.
Why is stamped concrete so much more expensive?
Stamped and stained concrete need color, release agents, stamping mats and extra finishing labor, so they run $12–$28/ft² versus $5–$10 for a plain broom finish - often double or more.
Why is this only an estimate?
Thickness, reinforcement, sub-base, finish, tear-out and local prices all move the cost. Use this national-average range as a starting point, then get local quotes.
